That day at inkhappi that is always anticipated… Its the 3rd Monday in July and I am scrambling to get this August 2014 Calendar out to you as promised today. I was up all night working on computer problems. [Oh the Joys of being a blogger] But I have it Yeah!
I really want to share a little personal story that goes with the message I chose for the August 2014 Calendar. About 12 years ago I had come off of a difficult time in my life after losing my sister to cancer and nearly losing my husband to a blood clot. Several changes in my life had affected me deeply around this time. I knew that to remain happy and stay on top of things I needed to be mindful of others more instead of myself. I loved the quiet times I had alone in the mornings when everyone got off to school or work before me. I decided that I would sing this certain song that I loved and see if it would influence my life for GOOD throughout the day if I started my day off with it. I sang that song out loud all by myself every morning. Here is the song!
“Have I Done Any Good in The World Today?”
Have I done any good in the world today?
Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad
and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed.
Has anyone’s burden been lighter today
because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary
been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?

Than dream of your mansion above.
Doing good is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure,
A blessing of duty and love.
Well there it is. Did it help? How could it not? Try it for your self!

I wanted a calendar that seemed to fit my philosophy that my heart is in my job and that the families and children mean more to me than just a paycheck.
