Today I am sharing something that my husband is crazy about… besides me, of course! 😉 He LOVES a good cheese ball. Particularly the Cheese balls that I make. Yep. I thought I’d share the easy recipe that I use here on the blog today! The only problem I have is I never use the exact recipe every time. Thats just how I roll. Sometimes this makes it difficult for me to share recipes but I’m going to do my best! Doesn’t it look wonderful?!! My bffhubby is munching away on it right now and he says it tastes wonderful too. He kept asking me when I’d be done taking photos so he could eat it. Oh what he has to put up with being married to a blogger! 🙂
This cheese ball would be a great appetizer to serve at or bring to a party!
It all starts with the cream cheese. Seriously, isn’t cream cheese an ingredient that makes anything good? I sure think so! This is your MUST have. Many of the other ingredients can be adjusted to your liking or what you have on hand. Another item I find to be wonderful {mainly only in cheese balls} is a bit of worcestershire sauce. I personally like my cheese mild but you can use whatever type of grated cheese you prefer——>> anything goes on this one. I love the finely chopped/minced fresh parsley also. Fresh parsley adds a freshness that is divine. I play around with seasonings. I will give you a basic combo that works great. Thats why I call it my “go-to” recipe.
AND… here we go!
My Favorite “go-to” Cheese Ball Recipe
My Favorite "go-to" Cheese Ball Recipe… Quick & Easy!
This is my favorite “go-to” Cheese Ball. This is a basic recipe. Some items can be adjusted or even omitted and it will still be yummy. You may also add fresh veggies of your choice to jazz it up a bit if you prefer!
- 16 oz cream cheese (two 8 oz packages)
- 1 cup generous shredded cheese of choice (I prefer a 4 cheese blend)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp seasoning salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
- 1 Tbs dehydrated onion (if you wish)
- 1 Tbs + 1 tsp Fresh diced/minced parsley
- 1 1/2 Cups chopped pecans
- I used my kitchen-aid with the paddle attachment. You can also mix it by hand.
- First soften cream cheese at room temperature until it is a creamy blend-able texture and won’t clump. Mix the cream cheese together well until it’s creamy.
- Next add all the other ingredients in the bowl and blend together very well. Make sure all the seasonings are distributed throughout the cheese ball.
- You can form your cheese ball immediately or let it sit in the refrigerator for a half hour or so to firm it up. Form the mixture into a ball and coat with pecans.
- Chill until serving.
- Serve with your favorite crackers or veggies! Yum!
