Several months throughout the year I share a cause that has meaning to me. In November I like to promote Epilepsy Awareness.
Last November I shared a post and free printables to support Epilepsy Awareness Month. Epilepsy has been a cause that became dear to my heart when my cousin lost a child to SUDEP, which is a result of epilepsy. This made me realize just how critical this disease can be. I added it to my list of causes that I wanted to support at inkhappi.
You can find my November 2013 post on this topic ——–>>HERE. I shared many facts, statistics and printables. I also shared a very sweet video in which we see the faces of epilepsy and those who have lost their life to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). I won’t repeat that information here today but there is so much information on the web if you want to learn more.
Someone out there needs your support and understanding!

A great place to learn and donate is the Epilepsy Foundation:
The statistics are astounding.
Here are a few taken from the Epilepsy Foundation.
65 MILLION: Number of people around the world who have epilepsy.
OVER 2 MILLION: Number of people in the United States who have epilepsy.
1 IN 26 people in the United States will develop epilepsy at some point in their lifetime.
BETWEEN 4 AND 10 OUT OF 1,000: Number of people on earth who live with active seizures at any one time.
150,000: Number of new cases of epilepsy in the United States each year
ONE-THIRD: Number of people with epilepsy who live with uncontrollable seizures because no available treatment works for them.
6 OUT OF 10: Number of people with epilepsy where the cause is unknown.
The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation is to lead the fight to stop seizures, find a cure and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy. Your donation ensures that we continue to provide help and hope to the over 2 million people living with epilepsy and their families. On behalf of those we help, thank you for your generosity and kindness. You will receive an email confirmation immediately following your transaction.
