In memory of Granite Mountain Hotshot Firefighters from Prescott Arizona.{My home state}
It has happened again.
Tragedy strikes.
This time it was 19 courageous men that went out on a call of duty and lost their lives to protect the lives of others.

I am deeply saddened by this and in my quest to find peace, I once again turn to quotes. Here is a list of some I came up with concerning firefighters, heroes, and courage.
{The first one really stood out to me. I know there is much grieving going on right now.}
If you think it’s tough being a firefighter, try being a firefighter’s wife. ~Author Unknown
What is a firefighter? He’s the guy next door…. He’s a guy like you and me with warts and worries and unfulfilled dreams. Yet he stands taller than most of us. He’s a fireman…. A fireman is at once the most fortunate and the least fortunate of men. He’s a man who saves lives because he has seen too much death. He’s a gentle man because he has seen the awesome power of violence out of control. He’s responsive to a child’s laughter because his arms have held too many small bodies that will never laugh again…. He doesn’t preach the brotherhood of man. He lives it. ~Author Unknown
All men are created equal, then a few become firemen. ~Author Unknown
Firefighters save hearts and homes. ~Author Unknown
What you call a hero, I call just doing my job. ~Author Unknown
Fireman never know what they will encounter on each call but proceed with the same level of commitment and service. ~Byron Pulsifer
I can think of no more stirring symbol of man’s humanity to man than a fire engine.” ~Kurt Vonnegut
Courage isn’t that you can see what lies ahead; courage means you will advance not knowing but doing at all costs. ~Byron Pulsifer
Firefighter appreciation isn’t just a once a year affair because firefighters are there for each of us everyday. ~Byron Pulsifer
Firemen are going to get killed. When they join the department they face that fact. When a man becomes a fireman his greatest act of bravery has been accomplished. What he does after that is all in the line of work. They were not thinking of getting killed when they went where death lurked. They went there to put the fire out, and got killed. Firefighters do not regard themselves as heroes because they do what the business requires. ~Chief Edward F. Croker
Nothing cries out for compassion, concern, and danger as a fire engine screams by carrying firefighters ready to do battle without flinching from any demand. ~Byron Pulsifer
You have to do something in your life that is honorable and not cowardly if you are to live in peace with yourself, and for the firefighter it is fire. ~Larry Brown
Every firefighter knows that he is always susceptible to this type of tragedy. They go to work every day knowing that they are doing something so positive, that people really respect them and appreciate them. ~Thomas Von Essen
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ~Bible, John 15:13
I am truly grateful for those such as firefighters that put their lives on the line daily to protect others. God bless them and their families!
Please have a moment of thought or prayer for these people.
