I love finding new gift ideas. I have always liked to get a little creative with it. My husband is not easy to do things for, that is for sure so I was racking my brain on Valentines day this year. We usually keep it simple and sometimes even cheesy on Valentines day because, well that’s just us! I had gotten a card for him weeks early and when valentines day rolled around it was no where to be found. {probably because I was moving my office and in a bit of a mess-oops!} But I did find two GIANT cards I got at the dollar store last year and they weren’t too bad. (hee hee) They had cut out hearts on the front and were blank on the inside, annnd did i mention they were BiG? Like about 10×16 inches big!
Perfect.
One for my mom
&&&
One for my honey!
So how was I to give these cards my personal touch?!!
Hmmmm….
Then I thought of “my BFF” {hubby} and the ringtone on my phone and how Tim McGraw gets me every time with his song,
“My Best friend”
Seriously every word of that song describes how I feel about my husband!
<3
So being the graphic enthusiast that I am, I decided to made a song lyric print that had a special meaning.
This song is not “our song” but its a good one to listen to and get that good feeling knowing I have been blessed.
Blessed with an amazing BFF.
I was hoping my recipient would feel the same way when he listened to the copy that I made him!
I am sharing the print for anyone wanting these lyrics for yourself. 🙂

On my Mothers card I put a sweet little song we would sing to each other in our younger days.
It was a little cheesy but appropriate way to show my love to my “mommy”! 🙂
Oh! And I decided that this is a project i will be tackling again,
and you can too if you’d like.
What you will need is:
an 11×17 piece of cardstock — for an 8.5×11 size card
{this can be found at your office, hobby, or copy store, and envelopes this size are easy to get there also}
Cut out shapes, letters or photo’s for the front
your lyrics{or verse} for the inside
Burn a CD to go with it and attach to the inside
There you have it!
A sweet and sentimental gift/card.
Isn’t that what cards are all about?!!
I think I may try making some wedding ones because I think the thought would make a cute addition to some cash or gift card.
My mind is swirling with imagination of all the things I could create here…
Yep!
So I may be back with another post when that happens.
Now:
Tell me what Lyrics would you want to see on your homemade card?
Don’t be afraid to comment! Do it!
