Persistence is the thought this month!

Progress doesn’t demand perfection. It demands persistence. Some days will be messy. Some habits will slip. But if you’re still in the fight, you’re still growing. You’re not losing, you’re learning.

Someone recently told me that I am strong, resilient, and to never give up. This got me thinking, and motivated me to persist. Therefore I decided to make this the thought of the month for the October 2025 Calendar.

This thought made me think of Thomas Edison. In his 84 years, Thomas Edison acquired a record number of 1,093 patents (singly or jointly) and was the driving force behind such innovations as the phonograph, the incandescent light bulb and one of the earliest motion picture cameras. He also created the world’s first industrial research laboratory.

But all of that didn’t come without setbacks…

Thomas Edison’s teachers said he was “too stupid to learn anything.” He was fired from his first two jobs for being non-productive. As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.”

You know how I love quotes and Thomas Edison has some great ones. Here’s some that go well with this thought.
