Has anyone ever surprised you just to let you know that they were thinking of you? Or have you ever wanted to surprise someone just to know you were thinking of them? I have experienced both, and its a pretty wonderful thing! I want to be that person that person who brings joy to someone just by letting them know “I’m thinking of you”. The problem is, I am never prepared to do it when the moment strikes. Therefore I created some fun tags to have on hand when the time is right. I also have some ideas to go along with these tags that I will share in this “happi” post. 🙂
Thinking of You Gift Tags
A couple of months ago I was dealing with some challenges. You will rarely find me being negative but I had some rough days. One day, a friend of mine called me and said she wanted to bring me lunch. (I happened to know that she was in the midst of a very busy week with company coming to stay in her home. She also had a baby shower and graduation she was planning the celebrations for.) When she asked me this , I kind of laughed and said, “No you have way too much going on this week.” Her response?
“You WILL let me because you are a good friend! ”
Seriously I was at a loss for words to that. If I said no then I wouldn’t be a good friend. Right? So she brought by my favorite Kneaders sandwich. We had a short visit and a long hug before she was off to attend to other good things. This gesture made me aware that she was thinking of me and it really MADE MY DAY! It made me want to be that friend who could make someone else’s day happy. So I made these cute pocket thinking of you gift tags to have on hand when the occasion arises to brighten someones day. I don’t know about you but I love to receive something that is packaged pretty!
“Package Me Pretty“
Wether it’s lunch, a sweet treat, their favorite drink, flowers, or a small gift that you know they will love, these tags will help. I’m planning on using these thinking of you gift tags to spread some happiness!
One of the things that I really like about these is that it has a pocket that you can slip a note, a gift card or a small gift in. They are pretty easy to put together also.
You just need a few supplies… Scissors, double sided sticky tape, a hole punch and washi tape or string to attach the tags to your gift.
To put together, cut out your two 3 piece tags following the small black lines. (I put them close together for less cutting) Fold the white section up on the long tag and tape the green tag over the white part to form a pocket by sealing the edges in the back. Punch a hole in the top and tie on some string and you have these cute thinking of you tags!
Annnnnd here is another cool idea:
After I put my tags together, I gathered some cute bags and boxes and put them in a folder to keep in my car. That way if I am out running errands I have my thinking of you gift tags all ready to surprise someone!
Do you have someone in mind to share these with?
- I first shared this post on Printable Crush in July.

I’M SO EXCITED ABOUT THESE!!! Super cute! And your packaging always amazes me. WHERE did you get the pink boxes and those white bags? Perfect for some “thinking of you cookies.”

Thanks Britney! I scored those boxes at a blog conference. I have a couple I could give you! 😉

Thanks so much. I appreciate your willingness to share your talents with us. I have MS and struggle with my handwriting. Plus I don’t really have many computer skills. So even if I was creative enough to think of something like this I wouldn’t know how to do it. Plus the inability with my right side (hand) being affected the most.
I can hit download and print these though.
I love the idea of keeping them some in my car. How convienant is that? I do love to serve and I try to follow those promptings to do that. But this will make it so much easier for me. I am sure many others feel the same way.
Thanks again for all you do! What a blessing you are to me.

These are awesome and so easy to do! Thank you so much. I made up goodie bags for my granddaughters to keep them busy and know I am thinking of them while they are out of school during these tough times. The tags are great labels since I had to leave them on their front porch with social distancing.

Thanks for sharing this Cheryl! I’m glad you like them. That’s an awesome idea to do during these strange times. 🙂
