Vinyl sayings on glass candles using Cricut… You will fall in love with this easy project!

For this project you’ll need some glass jar candles. I found these plain jar candles on sale. They had 3 wicks and smelled fabulous. I thought what a great gift idea so I picked up a few. Now that I’ve done them, I want them all for myself! they not only give positive vibes with a motivating saying but they are great decor and add a serene atmosphere for a bubble bath or a quiet lazy evening. Win. WIN!

Aren’t these so so cute? Well, I’m in love! The holographic vinyl is perfect for these candles because it adds an iridescent sparkle to them. I think you’ll find the vinyl sayings on glass candles using Cricut will be a fun and easy project with awesome results.

Now I’m going to address a common question people have about the cricut.

How easy is it to upload my own images with the Cricut?

The answer is “pretty darn easy”! Check out this video for the super easy tutorial. The free SVG files for download will follow at the end of the post. I must add that I just started my U-tube channel. I plan to share many more Cricut tutorials and some of my graphic designs including introducing my calendars each month. I’d love if you’d follow along by subscribing! (wink-wink)

For this project you’ll need:

Candles in glass jars

The SVG files I’m sharing below

Cricut machine

Cricut Design Space

Holographic vinyl (comes in Opal, blue or Pink)

This holographic vinyl looks awesome on these vinyl sayings on glass candles using Cricut.

Transfer paper

This transfer tape is a must for easy application on these vinyl sayings on glass candles using Cricut.

Cricut tools I prefer this one:

This this tool set comes in handy with these vinyl sayings on glass candles using Cricut.

Once you’ve cut the files on the cricket and separate them, you can begin to peel the vinyl. Peel by taking the sticky side off and leaving the words/letters on the back. This will take a few minutes because you will want to be sure to remove the little pieces in the letters such as a’s, p’s, o’s, etc… (the tools can be helpful) Next you will peel the sticky side off of the transfer tape and attach it on top of your little quotes. Press it firmly to secure and then peel again leaving the quotes on the sticky transfer tape. Next you will attach this piece to your candle jar rubbing and pressing firmly to the jar. The transfer tape should peel of nicely leaving the quotes on the jars. AND YOU”RE DONE!

I love this idea! I would love to make them for my daughter’s cheer team for Christmas gifts, but unfortunately, the files are not opening. They only open in notepad with letters. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Nicole, I loved how these turned out and they do make great gifts! These files are SVG files which are made for the cutting machine programs such as Cricut design space. They can then be cut out on the vinyl. They will only open in a program that accepts SVG files. I hope that helps. Do you have a cutting machine/program you work with?

I’m thinking of applying vinyl on candle jars; however, I fear that the vinyl will fall once the candle is burnt. In your experience, does the vinyl stay in place.

This is just a great project for the holidays. Thanks!!

Thanks for stopping by Marcy! I haven’t had a problem with this and I think it will be fine. Once its on, it stays put. (Many candles are sold with a sticker on them and they do fine) I absolutely love this little project. I hope it works out for you!

Hi Caryn! I just sent the files to you via email. I got the candles a year ago an clearance at Big Lots. They were good 3 wick candles without labels that smelled nice so I grabbed them. I do see this type of candle at several sores though. You may just need to remove some labels. Enjoy!

Hi Jillene – great website and products! I am quite new to this, recently purchase and Explore Air 2 and loving it! I bought some candles this morning (glass jar versions form Dunelm). I have Cricut Glitter Vinyl – just wondering whether the vinyl starts to peel at all when the glass gets hot? I’m looking to do some for Christmas gifts x

Hi Joanne! My candles have been fine, I don’t believe there should be a problem. Most glass candles are made to withstand a sticker on it and the vinyl holds very secure. I hope it works out! 🙂
