Hello and welcome to this years version of the August 2019 Calendar! I’m looking at summertime with bright and fun colors and I have a pretty cool motivational thought that I’m so excited to share.
I have a favorite new word that has been on my mind quite a bit lately. I’m at a point in my life where I really want to have purpose and intentionally do things to fulfill that purpose. The word?
The definition of intention is “A thing intended; to aim or plan, to have an objective, purpose, target or goal. Intention is the first step to set you up for success and follow-through. Buddha always inspires me and I love this quote:
We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves. -Buddha
Lately I have been using intention to clear my mind of unnecessary thoughts and focus on what’s most important to me. An example of one of those things for me would be “what brings me joy” so my intentions would focus on doing something with my grandkids or maybe an activity with friends or family. It could also mean doing an act of service or kindness for someone.
Whenever I have a lupus flare up or am not feeling well, my intention may be something as simple as taking a shower or texting someone who lifts me up.
Some other examples could be to improve a relationship, being happier in your job, heath goals, organizing your home, and the list goes on. Once you know what your intentions are then you can set smaller intentions to reach your purpose or goal.
Live every day with intention.
