The reward of a thing well done is having done it.
~Ralph Waldo Emmerson
Have you ever gone into a retail establishment and received exceptional service?
Well, occasionally this does happen!
The other day I went into a store to get some flowers for someone who was going through something tough and needed their day brightened. As I looked at my options, I was thinking, I wish they had this or that, and my budget was limited. I am always so indecisive and I had something specific in my mind and I just wasn’t seeing it. I hadn’t seen any employees and I was about to head for option two, when “that” employee appeared. You know, the one who gives exceptional service? Ya, that one! He asked what he could help me with and I told him I wasn’t seeing it. He said, “We have some beautiful sunflowers up front, and I have a bucket of these pretty deep purple flowers I can throw in at no cost, and I could do a pretty arrangement for you.” then he went on to say, “You look like a really nice person, so I won’t charge the extra arrangement fees.”
OK.
#1-purple was a favorite color of my recipient, and Sunflowers was just perfect for the occasion.
#2 This guy just totally flattered me with his kind words and manner.
#3 I instantly had a soft spot in my heart for this young man because he was a little “unique” {for better words} and I tend to love more quickly those individuals that may have some trouble fitting in.
SO.
He grabbed a vase and got to work on it. We had a lovely conversation, I took my arrangement, and left a very happy customer! That one individual made my day, so I could try to brighten someone else’s day! I haven’t forgotten about this individual as he has been on my mind all week. It was just a “you had to be there moment”. I hope he gets treated as well as he deserves because he sure made my day.
For this, {i am grateful}

I love when that happens!! I hope you take the time to call the store manager and share his excellent customer service skills with him. It may go in his file and help with a raise or promotion one day. I always try to tell the manager or owner when I receive exceptional service so they in turn continue to give it!
