The February 2018 Calendar is here! And just like that, we are into 2018. A new year, a new month, and new adventures!
I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve been into the blush pink lately. I found it fitting for the month of February, a month I like to recall as the month of LOVE. That also brought me to our thought this month. The President of my church, Thomas S Monson passed away this week. I love hearing him speak and I was looking through some of his talks and quotes and the influence he had on my life. He talked a lot about optimism and love, which I’m all about! The quote I used on the February 2018 Calendar came from one of his talks…
Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved.
As I’ve thought about this, I can recall instances where I’ve seen someone feel neglected or unimportant. It makes me so sad to see this. I think its something we all do at times yet it’s not always recognized until we see someone else do it.
Another story that comes to mind is Dr Seuss “Horton Hears a Who“. This is a story about Horton the elephant. He hears a cry for help coming from a speck of dust. Even though he can’t see anyone on the speck, he decides to help it. As it turns out, the speck of dust is home to the Whos, who live in their city of Whoville. Horton agrees to help protect the Whos and their home, but this gives him nothing but torment from his neighbors, who refuse to believe that anything could survive on the speck. Still, Horton stands by the motto that, “After all, a person is a person, no matter how small.”
Through the high jungle tree tops, the news quickly spread:
‘He talks to a dust speck! He’s out of his head!
Just look at him walk with that speck on that flower!’
And Horton walked, worrying, almost an hour.
‘Should I put this speck down?…’ Horton thought with alarm.
I can’t put it down. And I won’t! After all
A person’s a person. No matter how small.
So the challenge this month is to be more aware of WHO is around us. Listen and watch for ways we can show LOVE towards them!

Love, love, love this quote and print. Thank you. Thank you.
One question – is it possible to get the print in jpg – I am using
these for Visiting Teaching – and trying to maneuver them into
the same weird size each month. Thank you in advance.

I cannot believe I did not reply and thank you for the jpeg file. I am so sorry. Thank you so much, not just for that, but for sharing your time and talent like this. Your work is amazing. I Visit Teach my mail only – the sisters do not want any other contact, nothing “churchy”. So, my goal has been to just send them positive messages and let them know they are cared about. It is amazing the positive things that have come from this. Many have become dear friends of mine (in person) – ha! I was stressing about how to “change things up” a little this year – and you are an answer to prayer. Again, thank you so much. (And, I really appreciate the jpeg versions!!!)
