      In Arizona, due to the heat, it feels like summer in March although it officially begins in June. Fall is my favorite season but Summer always holds a special story! Summertime brings me so many memories of growing up. Fun times with friends, my first job, first kiss and so much more.

Every Summer has a story

Summer was our best season: it was sleeping on the back screened porch in cots, or trying to sleep in the tree house; summer was everything good to eat; it was a thousand colors in a parched landscape…

Summer is the annual permission slip to be lazy. To do nothing and have it count for something. To lie in the grass and count the stars. To sit on a branch and study the clouds.

Friends, sun, sand, and sea, that sounds like a summer to me.

If a June night could talk, it would probably boast it invented romance.

It’s a beautiful time of friendships, sunsets, flowers, fireflies, going to the beach, camping, and bonfires.

A week feels like a year when you’re seventeen and in love. A twenty minute drive might as well be an ocean. But we were together again and the whole world was rejoicing, even the gravel crunched melodiously under our feet as we danced onward through the night.

Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.
