“Letting Go Quotes”
This weeks happy thoughts come from the topic of “letting go”
Let it Go!
Have you ever heard the saying?
Most likely, yes you have. I certainly have heard those 3 words to “let it go”. Sometimes I do “let it go”and other times, well I have let it dig at me a little longer which can bring stress, worry, anger or frustrations. When there is “drama” going on someone is allowing something to tear away at their happiness. So why not just focus on the GOOD… and LET GO of the BAD. Right?
Aside from just being “happi”…
Many times post about things that that have been on my mind, annoy me, or I need to improve on myself. This topic hit all three.
Obviously, it has been on my mind. I get annoyed when I see others focus on negative things when they could just “let it go” and focus on the good instead. And I have had a couple of things bothering me a bit that I could afford to let go myself. So I did a little research on this. I found some great posts about letting go and letting go quotes that inspired me.
I loved this read from tiny buddha–simple wisdom for complex lives. I loved this post, “40 Ways to Let Go and Feel Less Pain”. You can find it HERE
A few of the 40 points on letting go that impressed me were:
*Remind yourself that anger hurts you more than the person who upset you, and visualize it melting away as an act of kindness to yourself.
*Remind yourself these are your only three options: remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it. These acts create happiness; holding onto bitterness never does.
*Take responsibility. Many times when you’re angry, you focus on what someone else did that was wrong—which essentially gives away your power. When you focus on what you could have done better, you often feel empowered and less bitter.
*Put yourself in the offender’s shoes. We all make mistakes; and odds are you could have easily slipped up just like your husband, father, or friend did. Compassion dissolves anger.
*Focus all your energy on something you can actually control, instead of dwelling on things you can’t.
Visualize a box in your head labeled “Expectations.” Whenever you start dwelling on how things should be or should have been, mentally shelve the thoughts in this box.
*Change your perception—see the root cause as a blessing in disguise.
*Laugh it out. {laughing is GOOD} Research shows that laughter soothes tension, improves your immune system, and even eases pain. If you can’t relax for long, start with just ten minutes watching a funny video on YouTube.
Pretty awesome stuff huh! Thanks Tiny Buddah!
I also came across some amazing letting go quotes. Here is a list of a few favorites of mine:
*Letting go helps us to to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. It allows others to be responsible for themselves and for us to take our hands off situations that do not belong to us. This frees us from unnecessary stress. – Melody Beattie, The Language of Letting Go
*Some people believe holding on and hanging in there are signs of great strength. However, there are times when it takes much more strength to know when to let go and then do it. – Ann Landers
*People can be more forgiving than you can imagine. But you have to forgive yourself. Let go of what’s bitter and move on. – Bill Cosby
*Anything I cannot transform into something marvelous, I let go. – Anais Nin
*Let go of your attachment to being right, and suddenly your mind is more open. – Ralph Marston
*To let go is to release the images and emotions, the grudges and fears, the clingings and disappointments of the past that bind our spirit. – Jack Kornfield
*There’s an important difference between giving up and letting go. – Jessica Hatchigan
*Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go. – Herman Hesse

3 words after “Let it Go”, call “Life Goes On”. Holding onto something will only pull us back and not moving forward, and it only hurt us, as we choose not to let it go, not letting go the past. Live, in present.
