March 2024 Calendar and Word of the Month: Authentic

Oops! I totally forgot about the March 2024 Calendar so I whipped it up to share now. The word of the month is Authentic, and I’m excited to share some thoughts on that.

March 2024 Calendar and the Word Authentic

Live life to the fullest, be yourself, be original, be genuine, be true, be honest, be real, open up, be true to yourself. These are just a few things that remind me of the word I chose this month for the March 2024 calendar.

The word is:

Authentic

Authenticity means you’re true to your own personality, values, and spirit, regardless of the pressure that you’re under to act otherwise. You’re honest with yourself and with others, and you take responsibility for your mistakes. Your values, ideals, and actions align.

One of the reason I chose this word for the March 2024 calendar is because I’m still working on some aspects of this. I have come a long way over the last couple of years. To be honest though, I didn’t realize that I let certain things in my life influence my authenticity. Being authentic has come easy in many ways for me hough. I’m genuinely an optimistic person who is optimistic and likes to have fun. I also say what I’m thinking (too often to be honest0.

There are two things I stiill need work on and I think they are common problems for many.

1. I worry what people will think of me.

By the time I was in my 40’s I started caring less about what people think. I even want to give advice on this sometimes hahah, but Sometimes I still try to be a people pleaser.

2.  I tell people what they expect me to say based upon teachings, beliefs, or what is right or wrong.

I spent most of my life with this problem. There were things I was taught throughout my life that I questioned or didn’t necessarily agree with. Instead of being true to my self, I would of say things or give answers that I thought the other person expected of me. When I recently worked to change this and be more authentic and true to myself and my own belief system, I learned to be more genuine regardless about what other people were thinking of me. I am in control of my own life without letting other things influence me.

I will continue to focus on this for the March. I already have my word picked out for the April Calendar and it is a good place to go after the word Authentic. That should be coming up in a couple of weeks!
