Happy Mothers Day!
Everyone has a mother somewhere. Some are actually mothers themselves. Some are mothers without ever giving birth. With Mothers Day coming up, I wanted to dedicate a post to mothers everywhere today.
Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother. –Oprah Winfrey
What makes a mother?
I’m sharing a list of quotes that describe very well what Mothers are.
My mother said to me, ‘If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.’ Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso. –Pablo Picasso
Mother’s love is peace. It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved. –Erich Fromm
The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. -Theodore Hesburgh
The natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. When you become a mother, you are no longer the center of your own universe. You relinquish that position to your children. -Jessica Lange
That strong mother doesn’t tell her cub, Son, stay weak so the wolves can get you. She says, Toughen up, this is reality we are living in. – Lauryn Hill
When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. –Sophia Loren
A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. -Tenneva Jordan
Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs in my field, since the payment is pure love. -Mildred B. Vermont
Sweater, n.: garment worn by child when its mother is feeling chilly. -Ambrose Bierce
She never quite leaves her children at home, even when she doesn’t take them along. –Margaret Culkin Banning
Call your mother. Tell her you love her. Remember, you’re the only person who knows what her heart sounds like from the inside. -Rachel Wolchin
Who ran to help me when I fell, And would some pretty story tell, Or kiss the place to make it well? My mother. -Ann Taylor
Mother’s love grows by giving. -Charles Lamb
Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother. -Oprah Winfrey
A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take. –Cardinal Mermillod
There is no one perfect way to be a good mother. Each situation is unique. Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children. The choice is different and unique for each mother and each family. Many are able to be “full-time moms,” at least during the most formative years of their children’s lives, and many others would like to be. Some may have to work part-or full-time; some may work at home; some may divide their lives into periods of home and family and work. What matters is that a mother loves her children deeply and prioritizes them above all else. – M. Russell Ballard
For Mothers day I also wanted to share a printable page that has all of these quotes on it!
And a print of one of my favorite quotes!
And here is a matching card for mom!
The card is made to print on a 8.5 x 11 paper folded in half and cut down to a 7 x 5 card. The inside of card will be blank and the backside has 2 hearts made with love…
If you don’t have a mother to share these with, then find someone who is a role model mother figure. This may even be someone who has no children of their own, I know many awesome “MOM” figures like this. There is someone out there who would appreciate this kind gesture! 🙂

If you do have a mom let her know this Mothers Day how special she is! 🙂
And from me to you…

Julie says
wow, with all the banners and click me’s on your webpage, I can’t even discern the content. too bad….
Jillene says
I’m sorry you feel that way Julie. This is the first complaint I have had about this but I do understand and appreciate your viewpoint. I will re-evaluate when I do my next blog update and maybe improve that. I spend a lot of time on my blog and share so many free printables that I need to generate a bit of income to keep it going. Therefore, I will have adds on my site but nobody is required to click them.
