Sharing some free prints and information about Breast Cancer Awareness. This is a cause very dear to me. Being aware and sharing the news with others could possibly save a life. Here’s what I’m sharing today!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime
By increasing awareness we can help prevent cancer and bring about early detection. Making others aware and what can be done to help could even save a life!
October marks my one year of blogging and it also signifies Breast cancer awareness. One of my very first posts was in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. {You can read that post HERE} I recently shared another post about someone else dear to me and their experience with breast cancer this year {read HERE}. So you can see it is a cause that is near and dear to me. I am sharing some printables and information that can be passed along to help in the cause this month.
The National breast Cancer Foundation has a website with some amazing resources. Their mission statement:
{ The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s mission is to save lives through early detection and to provide mammograms for those in need. Our mission includes increasing awareness through education, providing diagnostic breast care services for those in need, and providing nurturing support services. }
Just spending some time on this site opened my eyes to some wonderful information. They have several wonderful programs to support breast cancer awareness. One of these programs is an EARLY DETECTION PLAN.
When breast cancer is detected early (localized stage), the 5-year survival rate is 98%
The best way to fight breast cancer is to have a plan that helps you detect the disease in its early stages. Create your Early Detection Plan to receive reminders to do breast self-exams, and schedule your clinical breast exams and mammograms based on your age and health history. They also will give you references as to how to do your exams!
Another Program is called BEYOND THE SHOCK.
Beyond The Shock is a free, comprehensive, online guide to understanding breast cancer. It is a resource for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, a place for loved ones to gain a better understanding of the disease, and a tool for doctors to share information.
